1. What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve all of Oneida County and Herkimer County in Central New York. We also travel outside this area but we ask that you call and ask. This includes Utica, Rome, New Hartford, Clinton, Whitesboro, Herkimer, Little Falls, Ilion, and the surrounding Mohawk Valley communities. If you aren’t sure if you’re in our radius, just give us a call!
2. How do you determine your pricing?
Our pricing is primarily based on volume—how much space your items take up in our dump trailers and difficulty in access to the items. Because every job is unique (a single couch vs. a whole hoarder house cleanout), we offer free, no-obligation estimates. Our quotes are transparent with no hidden dumping or labor fees.
3. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, absolutely. Haul Away Solutions is fully licensed and insured to operate in New York State. We prioritize safety and professionalism, protecting your property from the moment we arrive until the job is complete.
4. What items CAN you take?
We can haul away almost anything two people can lift! Common items include:
• Furniture (couches, mattresses, dressers)
• Appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers)
• Electronics and e-waste
• Yard waste (branches, brush)
• Construction debris and carpet
• Entire estate, garage, attic, and basement cleanouts
5. Are there any items you CANNOT take?
Due to local environmental regulations and safety hazards, we cannot haul hazardous materials. This includes some chemicals, asbestos, medical waste, and explosive materials. If you have these items, we can often direct you to the proper OHSWA (Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority) disposal programs.
6. Do you just throw everything in the landfill?
No, we care about our Central NY community. We sort through the items we haul to keep as much out of the local dumps as possible. We actively donate usable furniture and household goods to local charities and recycle metal, electronics, and cardboard at designated recycling centers.
7. Do I need to be present for the cleanout?
Not necessarily! As long as we have clear access to the items or property and a phone number to reach you, we can handle the job. We can send you “Before & After” photos via text once the work is completed and accept payment over the phone or digitally.
8. How quickly can I get an appointment?
We know that clutter can cause stress, so we offer fast scheduling. In many cases, we can provide same-day or next-day service in the Utica and Rome areas.
9.). Do you charge extra for certain items?
Yes, unless in our initial agreement we charge extra for paints, oils, fuels, tires etc. Most are just a small handling fee for us to dispose of these items at a proper acceptance facility.
